A receptionist that books during the call.

Your booktender answers your shop's line when you can't, says it's an AI, knows your regulars, and books, moves and cancels against your live calendar while the caller is on the phone.

A real test call to our sample shop, renamed Corner Chair. The agent's words and voice are its own; the caller is scripted and voiced by AI. Silences between turns are shortened.

Shop phone numbers connect at launch. Today the booktender answers in our test console and in scripted test calls against a sample shop.

What it does on a real call.

Leo confirms his last visit, moves Friday's visit to Saturday, then cancels the one after. Every line of that call, and what the booktender is doing at each one.

  1. Robin, the AIThanks for calling Corner Chair, this is Robin, the shop’s AI assistant. Calls are transcribed to help with bookings. Am I speaking with Leo?

Says it's the shop's AI assistant and that calls are transcribed. The number matches Leo's, but caller ID alone unlocks nothing.

  2. LeoYes, it’s Leo. Can you move Friday’s appointment to Saturday morning? My last visit was October 23rd.

The date of his last visit checks out. That, or a booking reference, is what opens his bookings.

  3. Robin, the AII can move your Friday appointment to Saturday morning. The only open slot right now is Saturday the 31st at 11:15. Want me to move it there?

Finds Friday's booking and offers the one Saturday-morning time free on the live calendar. It moves nothing until he picks it.

  4. Leo11:15 works.

  5. Robin, the AILet me confirm that change.

  6. Robin, the AIAll set, your appointment is now on Saturday the 31st at 11:15.

Moved during the call, once he'd picked the time.

  7. LeoGreat. And please cancel the one on November 6th.

  8. Robin, the AILet me take care of that cancellation request.

  9. Robin, the AIDone, your skin fade with Priya on Friday the 6th at 9 a.m. is cancelled.

Cancelled on request. Both changes are on the calendar before he hangs up.

Every callWhen nobody picks upAfter hoursOff

During the shop's hours its phones ring first and the agent answers after 20 seconds; after hours it answers at once.

What it may do

  • Book appointmentsFinds open times and books one once the caller says yes.
  • RescheduleMoves a booking to another time, after checking who's calling.
  • CancelCancels a booking, after checking who's calling.
  • Take messagesWrites down a message and a callback number for the shop.
  • Transfer to a personPuts the caller through to the shop during its hours.

When it answers and what it may do, per location.

What it won't do

  • Never invents a time, a price or a booking: they come from your calendar and your menu.
  • Never books without a clear yes to the time it read back.
  • Never pretends to be a person. It says it's the shop's AI assistant on every call.
  • Never reads out, moves or cancels a booking on caller ID alone.
  • Never takes payments or card numbers, and never calls anyone.

You decide whether calls are transcribed; with transcription off the log keeps the outcome, the booking and a short summary. The voice model and transcription run at OpenAI in the United States, and the Security page lists every provider.

300AI minutes a month, included.

Shop + Phone is CA$149 a location a month: about 200 calls. When minutes run out, calls ring the shop, unless you turn on auto-refill. Packs are 100 minutes for CA$15 or 500 for CA$60.
